MACA is making a difference in the fight against cancer
At MACA (Move Against Cancer Africa), we are committed to reducing the burden of cancer across Africa through early detection, awareness, education, and access to care.
Our Story
Across Africa, cancer continues to claim lives — not because it can’t be treated, but because too many people face late diagnoses, misinformation, and poor access to care. The pain of losing loved ones to preventable or treatable cancers is a story shared by millions. At Move Against Cancer Africa (MACA), we refuse to let this story go unchanged.
MACA began as a grassroots initiative driven by health professionals, survivors, and advocates who saw the urgent need to close the cancer care gap. What started as small community outreaches has grown into a powerful movement empowering people through education, early detection, and stronger systems of support.
Today, we work across countries to build a future where no one faces cancer alone — where awareness is high, care is accessible, and lives are saved through timely action. Every campaign, every screening, every advocate we raise brings us closer to this vision. Our story is one of hope, resilience, and action — and it’s only just beginning.
Our Mission
To reduce the burden of cancer across Africa by promoting early detection, providing education, and ensuring access to quality care for all — regardless of geography or income.
Our Vision
A future where every African has the knowledge, resources, and support to prevent, detect, and fight cancer effectively.
Our Goal
To create a continent-wide network of passionate cancer advocates — working hand-in-hand to raise awareness, drive policy, and ensure no one faces cancer alone.
